MEMORIES TO MEMOIRS” SUMMER CLASS
Your first job. Your first date. A tough period in your life. A day when time stood still. Memories to Memoirs will help you put snippets of your life (or a longer stretch) into words for posterity. We meet weekly on Tuesday mornings in August from 10:30 to noon in the Verdin Parlor (please enter through the kitchen). We will take turns sharing our pieces (for those who want to share). Dennis Winkleblack will lead the class, offering writing tips and an abundance of encouragement. All writing skill levels welcomed, especially those who’re certain they can’t write. The third class is August 20th and goes until August 27th.

YOUTH GROUP VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
I am looking to expand my youth group volunteer list and would like to add you to it! If you are interested in becoming a volunteer with our youth group, please join me at an informational volunteer meeting at 10:45, after the 9:30 service ends, on August 25th up in the Barn. I will have bagels and brunch-y things, and coffee (always coffee!) and will fill you in on what is required of you as a youth group volunteer. (Please note, this is just informational and is not a commitment - if after our meeting you decide it's not for you, that is not a problem at all.) Thank you all, and I look forward to meeting with you!

DAYS FOR GIRLS
The Simsbury, CT Chapter of Days for Girls has packed up 200 Days for Girls kits made at our workshops. Their first destination is Pittsburgh, PA and they must arrive before September 16. Is there anyone who will be traveling and have room for 4 boxes of kits 18x18x16 to be delivered at a church in Pittsburgh? How exciting for us to be changing so many lives in this way. We also need someone with significant IT skills to manage our social network page, and help with other behind the scenes jobs. Contact Jan Baker at simsburyct@daysforgirls.org.

USHERS NEEDED
The Worship committee is looking for men and women to serve as ushers. If you enjoy greeting people and helping throughout the service, consider being an usher! Training is provided. Contact Ed Hamilton or Sandy Lipscomb.  Thank you!
