Our Youth Group is fun, vibrant, and growing, and we welcome all. We meet weekly, Wednesday nights for high school students (senior youth) and Thursday nights for sixth through eighth grade students (junior youth). Our focus is on community both within our group, within the church, and within the world at large. As such, friends of any (or no) faith tradition and nonbelievers are always welcome to participate in any or all of our youth activities. If you are interested in participating, feel free to contact Erin Ott/(914) 213-1493 or check our calendar for an upcoming youth event and just show up!
At our weekday evening meetings, we meet for pizza and fellowship, playing games, having great discussions, or just hanging out in the Barn, our youth room up behind the church, which includes a foosball table, ping-pong table and vintage pinball game.
Monthly Fun Events
Once a month each group meets independently for a fun event. We have gone bowling, held a Wii tournament in the Barn, had a movie night and held a Chopped-style cooking competition. Junior Youth meets for these fun events typically the second or third Sunday of the month, and senior youth meets the first Friday of each month. Friends are welcome!
Monthly Service Events
Once a month we participate together (junior youth and senior youth both) in a service project. We have cooked and served dinner at the Plimpton House in Hartford, volunteered at Gifts of Love Farm, and assisted with various events right at our church. Once again, all are welcome to join us!
Annual Mission Trip
Each year we take a mission trip to serve others in areas less fortunate than home. In the past we have done the Appalachian Service Project, and this past August we went to the Red Bird Mission in Beverly, Kentucky. These projects are open to anyone in the church, and both youth and adult church members attend.
