Wow. We are blessed with an amazing organ, and an equally-amazing 55-bell carillon. These instruments were given to SUM by Charles and Peggy Foreman in 1986. Historical and technical info on the Foreman Organ can be found here.

True fact: There are only 11 Carillons in the state of Connecticut….and ours is the second-largest. Even more amazing: YOU can learn to play this wonderful instrument. Carilloneur David Maker holds regular carillon sessions for those interested in learning and also teaches a technique called "Change Ringing" where small groups play musical patterns on the bells. It’s easy to learn, fun to do, and doesn't require music reading or keyboard experience. In group sessions, everyone gets to encourage each other while building a community of support for the instrument, therefore, sessions are intended for adults as well as kids! We meet most Thursdays at 6:50 pm.
