When is the Next Meal Packing Event?
Saturday, October 21st at 9 AM-11 AM, Including Aid to Maui!
It’s so exciting to receive emails and phone calls from congregation and community members asking when our next meal-packing event is. People look forward to the fellowship that they find by standing elbow to elbow with other families that want to combat food insecurity in the greater Hartford area.
This event will be our sixth since we started in October of 2021, and by the time we tape up the last box of Minestrone soup mix, our cumulative efforts will have fed almost 140,000 people!
As we did with Ukraine, we can help families outside of our area during times of crisis. This time, we can send meals to those impacted in Maui. Other recipients will include Gifts of Love, Granby Food Bank, local community college food banks, and the Salvation Army.
Thanks to the congregation’s generosity of an allocation from the Christmas/Easter offering, a grant from the UNICO Foundation, and a contribution from Windsor Federal Savings, we are only $2,000 shy of our $7,500 fundraising goal.
If you’ve participated before, we’d love to have you back. If you haven’t joined us yet, please consider joining us. Ages 5-95 are welcome, and we ask only for a one-hour commitment of your time on a Saturday morning. Check out this photo below to get the gist of the fun and energy at these events.
