A Wesleyan Christmas

A Wesleyan Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas at SUMC,
As snow blankets the ground and fills us with glee.
All through the church folks both old and new,
Listen as the choir fills the sanctuary on cue.

The children all dressed in their holiday best,
Not realizing they are all here to be blessed.
Waiting for Santa in the pews where they shift,
With visions of stockings and the promise of gifts.

Pastor Gene and Deacon Deb are full of joy,
Welcoming families and each girl and boy.
The candles are lit and poinsettias bloom,
As the songs of the holiday fill the room.

There is no stable nor animals around,
Yet the glory of Christmas is adored in this town.
A Wesleyan Christmas makes our hearts soar,
As we welcome the Christ child for all to adore.

Merry Christmas to All
