Children’s Lord’s Prayer

God so holy, full of grace,
Make the world a better place.
Give us the food we need for today.
Forgive us our wrongs
When we go astray.
Help us always to do good,
And love others, like we should.
God, we love you; we are yours.
Swing wide open heaven's doors.
Amen.

In this children's version of the Lord's Prayer, the words beautifully capture the essence of faith, gratitude, and love. The simplicity and sincerity of the prayer resonate with the pure hearts of children.

"God so holy, full of grace, make the world a better place." These opening lines set the tone for the prayer, acknowledging God's holiness and grace while expressing a heartfelt desire for a better world. They reflect a childlike innocence and optimism, believing in God's power to bring positive change to the world.

"Give us the food we need for today. Forgive us our wrongs when we go astray." These lines highlight the basic needs of sustenance and forgiveness. The prayer teaches children to be grateful for what they have and to seek forgiveness when they make mistakes. It emphasizes the importance of humility and gratitude in our daily lives.

"Help us always to do good, and love others, like we should." This line encapsulates the essence of living a virtuous life - doing good deeds and showing love and kindness to others. It instills compassion, empathy, and altruism in children, encouraging them to treat others with respect and care.

"God, we love you; we are yours. Swing wide open heaven's doors. Amen." The prayer concludes with a declaration of love and devotion to God, expressing a deep sense of belonging and faith. The imagery of heaven's doors swinging wide open symbolizes the hope for eternal grace, reinforcing the belief in God's boundless love and mercy.

I hope you enjoyed looking at the Lord’s Prayer through the eyes of a child.
