Summer Worship is Cool
If you’ve attended worship this summer, you noticed a change. Summer worship is cool. Air-conditioned, that is. Pastor Gene and I decided not to take a chance with your comfort this summer so we made the decision early on to hold our summer worship in Wesley Hall.
Planning for worship in Wesley Hall for July and August guaranteed you would not need to experience oven-like temperatures in the Sanctuary. It also allowed all the people working behind the scenes to gear up.
The Tech Dream team worked their magic to ensure live streaming continued. They added a sound system, live streaming camera, and monitor to Wesley Hall. You can thank Will Kelsey, Len Bobinski, John Jones, Dennis Jacobs, and Bob Shea the next time you see them. It was installed in time for our first worship on July 2nd.
Scout Troop #174 was asked to set up the chairs and tables each Saturday. They stepped up to the task. Each week they make sure the altar table is up, the piano is in place, and all the chairs are ready for you, including the hymnals set on each seat.
Our worship team, head usher Glenn Knight, worship chair Sandy Lipscomb, and the live stream production team of Len Bobinski and Paul Collen ensured all the necessary arrangements were made so that Deacon Deb (July) and Pastor Gene (August) simply arrived ready to lead worship. The Hospitality team made some adjustments to fit the snacks and coffee into our newly designed space. And the music team made sure we had music designed for piano and other instruments appropriate for Wesley Hall.
The reaction has been largely positive. Worshippers are pleased with the comfort levels. They also enjoyed the change of scene and more intimate setting. We know you will be ready to resume worship in our beautiful sanctuary with our stained-glass windows and pipe organ come Fall. And we are glad you gave the summer worship setup a thumbs up. Thank you!
