Growing Faith in Our Children

You make sure they brush their teeth, eat their vegetables, and go to school; you may even chart their physical growth on a door frame, but who considers how to grow faith in our children? How do you teach young children about God and Jesus in terms they will understand? In a recent church survey, one person asked this question and planted the seed for this amazing event.

SUM is proud to announce a special program by Shawn Elizabeth George on November 12th (12 - 2 p.m.) designed to help you set the stage for a spiritual journey for you and your children that they can carry throughout their childhood, teens, and young adulthood.

Ms. George is a wife and mother of three. She has a BSEd in Health and Physical Education and a Masters in School Health Education. She has designed this program with you in mind – parents, grandparents, guardians, and others interested in instilling a strong belief system in children beginning at an early age. She has developed ten practices to help grow your children's faith every day of the week. The event will also include small group activities to:

·       Discuss which of these practices stood out the most to you and why.

·       What is the one practice you will put into practice this week? Who can you share this plan with to help keep you accountable?

·       What will you do to help continue to grow your children's faith during the week at home and not just on Sundays at church?

·       How will you nourish your own faith so your relationship with God remains strong?

So many children raised in the church often drift away as they age. Perhaps teaching parents and guardians how to grow faith in a child will guide them along their spiritual journey and help them remain on this path. Please consider attending this unique event.

This special event requires registration, so we know there are enough participants to ensure Ms. George’s appearance. Please sign up here.
